NUC HIVES

frame brood.jpg

Each 5-frame Nuc will have a 2026 mated laying queen with comb and multiple brood frames in various stages of development and a food frame. All the brood will be from your queen and ready to go straight into a full size hive!

We will have Carniolan queens primarily and these are the only available option for Battle Ground this year as our Italian queens are coming a little later and won't be ready for our drop there. If you a Tri-Cities customer and are interested in Italians, give us a comment and we will let you know the details.

The bees will be treated multiple times before you receive them. Traits we encourage are honey production, winter hardiness, good hygiene and gentleness.

We hope to have them available some time in April depending on the weather. Pick up depends on certain variables and we will keep in touch with tentative times and let you know as soon as possible about pick-up. We are here to offer support and answer questions as you move along on your Beekeeping journey.

PRE-ORDER NUCS FOR SPRING 2026

$195

Tax included in price

YOU CAN EITHER PAY FULL PRICE NOW

OR PUT DOWN A NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT WITH REMAINING BALANCE DUE BY MARCH 25TH, 2026.

We get our queens from experienced queen breeders that we use ourselves and order them as early as possible. We then put them in

and watch them for 3 weeks to make sure your nuc has a strong,

laying queen. This may be a bit different than what other sellers do,

as many will just add a caged queen and present it to you. Over the

years, we have come to realize that it is important that every queen is checked and monitored for health and laying ability through this first stage or her life. After 3 weeks, all brood will be hers and this gives

all of us a good idea on her future as a good queen.

WE EXPECT OUR FIRST WEEKEND FOR NUC DELIVERY/PICK-UP WILL BE APRIL 24-26 FOR BOTH BENTON CITY AND BATTLE GROUND.

If you are wanting an Italian queen, they are coming a week later and

they will be available the next weekend (FIRST WEEKEND OF MAY).

We will contact you as as we are certain of the exact date and will come up with a time that is convienient for you for pick-up.

You can put your queen preference in the NOTES section on the CART page, when ordering if you'd like and we will do our best to accommodate your request. The earlier you order, the easier it will be for us to make sure you get what you are looking for. Be assured both kinds do very well and we have both these bees for our commercial operation, having great success with them.

Availability time depends on many factors so we will not be able to give an exact pick-up date yet. We will let you know as we know, an exact date and time.

We DO NOT guarantee that every NUC will survive long-term or become a high producer.

We DO NOT ship our Nucs through the mail so pick up at our BENTON CITY, WA (off Badger Road) or BATTLE GROUND, WA (Joyful Honey and Beekeeping Supplies) locations will be necessary.

SEND US A MESSAGE FROM THE CONTACT PAGE or VIA CALL/TEXT IF YOU HAVE COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS.
