Plantain herb (not the banana!) is wonderful for skin cleansing, clearing, softening and smoothing. Sometimes called Nature's Bandaid, Can be used to treat many skin blemishes including lesions and other skin issues. It improves the look and feel of skin for many. Has been used on scars and may help to reduce the appearance of them. We use on skin over-exposed to wind, sun or other extreme weather and we've found helps with rashes. Also can ease an itchy, flaky scalp. We use this as a base in some of our topical skin products. My dad had a skin disease that caused terrible itching and this was the best product to ease his discomfort. If I cut myself and don't have the fresh plant available, I use this or our BeeBetter Balm which contains this and Calendula.

We also use it on our dog's dry, itchy skin or on any other skin issue they may have including hot spots! Can pair well with Calendula oil for difficult areas.

This is one of our most used oils.

TRADITIONAL USE: Thought to protect from damaging effect of oxidation, may be cleansing, may ease irritation, may soothe and provide comfort to injured areas, often allowing them to heal easily, may ease skin flaking including scalp, may reduce scarring, may assist with blocked pores, may ease sunburns, shown to draw out splinters or other debris, shown to be cleansing, may fight germs, emollient, full of vitamins/minerals.
